Saw an old mod 12 today and here's what it looked like...
- receiver bluing is about 10%
- has a polychoke
- cracked stock from 1/2" above the bottom of the butt plate towards the wrist about 4"
- chipped original butt plate quarter sized and same location as the crack
- something rattels to and fro in the magazine tube
- bore is clean
The price seems high at $275. I was thinking more like $50-$100 as a project gun.
On the other hand. I have been pushing a young man that has a Remington mod 31 16ga to sell it to me. He couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at 10' with it this year in SD. It's in great shape and he only paid $100 for it. Only bad part is it's not really for sale....yet.

Find a better one or pay no more than $50 for it. That gun's going to need a lot of work, and if I am not mistaken, almost any replacement part will have to be machined to fit. |

Chopper,
I say keep pushing for that Mod 31. That's a bargain in the making! |
