Picked it up the other day, will break it in this weekend on some pigeons. the 28" barrel makes it a little longer than i thought it would be but I tend to shoot longer barrels better. It will make the South Dakota trip this year. My others pictured from left to right my original Sweet 16, my Citori III 16, A5 16 and Citori Lighting Feather 16

Very nice collection. Now you need a to add a SxS to the stable.

Thank You. No, I'm afraid not I've never been a fan of SXS, at least shooting them. I shot a Ruger Gold Label one time at a skeet range in NH and liked it would have bought one since I'm a Ruger fan but they never made it out of the box.

Very nice. Hoping I can get one someday to add to my BPS 16, and my 311 16.

Shot it for the first time yesterday at skeet. Was a little surprised at the recoil in the gun although for its weight I should not have been. I shot some of the Fiochhi 1 oz of 8's I had on hand at 1300 fps. I'll load some 7/8 oz at under 1200 or whatever I get get by with that will cycle the action. My 12 ga A5 will not cycle 7/8 oz loads so Im hoping this one will in the 16. I have an abundance of the Fiocchi VIP empties that I need to use so I'll find a load for those.

You will feel an ounce at 1300 fps and I wouldn't want to shoot a round with that load in my A5 SW16. That said, I can shoot 1 oz @ 1150-1200 fps at skeet with mine with no recoil issues at all.

I agree, Herters 1 oz at 1165, no cycling problems and no noticeable recoil, at least to me.

Mine will not cycle 7/8 oz. either, at least in the 1200-1250 fps range.

I am recoil sensitive got pounded by trap over the years and only shoot 7/8 oz. for all gauges the last decade or so until the Sweet 16. Going to 1 oz. loads at ~1200 fps I can shoot 100 clays with it and surprised at how light the recoil is. I put Kick EEZ pads on all my guns but am leaving the Browning pad on the Sweet, it works and works well. For me. Never ran 1300 fps through it though.

Loaded some 7/8's at 1150 this morning and shot them in the backyard they do not work. When I get a chance I'll load some 1 oz. same velocity and see how they function.

Couple things to keep in mind. The threshold for reliable functioning for most of the A5 SW6's that I know is the 1 oz. 1165 fps and up. I bought mine for hunting, so that's more than good enough for me.

Many autos seem to get better about cycling after they've been broken-in which usually entails shooting them for a while and putting some heavy loads through them. And make sure all of the factory lube has been cleaned out of it, relube, and keep it cleaning it periodically throughout the "break-in" period. These guns seem to like to be run slightly "wet," so keep the bolt raceway lightly oiled.

You'll get it dialed in.
