To me, the purple handle with brass end caps seems like an obvious choice, with the 16 logo of course. Also, I don't gut my upland birds, I just breast them, and even if I did, I just use my fingers, so I don't really understand the point of a gut hook. If you make one in purple and brass with the 16 logo, I'm in. Make it unusual and interesting.
Otherwise, it's just another knife imo. |

Gentlemen,
I agree with Uncle Dan also, I breast my Grouse and Woodcock, however I do not have an old time bird knife any more, and thought it would be nice to have one with the 16 logo on it. However a 2 blade folding knife would be great also.
Either way is good by me.

For those folks that want an old time bird knife with a gut hook, Boker still makes one, but it will not say 16 GA Society on it.
Good Hunting,

Smooth purple. None of that jigged crap. Can I get an Amen?
(But in reality, I’m in for whatever the group votes on) |

I'm in for whatever is chosen, I'd "prefer" a Russlock type blade. Smooth or rough hanlde makes no diffference to me.

On just breasting all your game birds, better check the game regs, especially if hunting out of state. Several western states where I travel to for my fall bird hunting have very specific requirements on how much of the bird must be harvested for the table and also some requirements for leaving wings or legs attached to the carcass for species identification. I'm not sure how rigidly they enforce these regulations, nor am I sure I want to find out the hard way. |

The more I think about it the more I like Marks' idea , something different. Either way I'm still in for 2. |

Kinda like the one posted by SkeetX on page one simple and has the 16 etched on the blade. I prefer no gut hook. |
