There was an announcement in the Outdoor Wire this morning.

Stevens 555E Over-and-Under 16-Gauge

Stevens’ new 555 Enhanced is light and handles fast, thanks to a lightweight aluminum receiver that’s scaled to gauge and reinforced by a steel insert. It is now available in 16-gauge.

Does anyone know who actually makes this firearm?
Thanks; Tom

KOFS of Turkey makes these. It's the same gun as the ATI Cavalry but with slightly different decoration on the receiver.

This actually sounds interesting however, I own a Browning Citori 16 Upland - and 1 16 GA gun is enough in my life. (at one point I owned 3: a Savage SXS circa 1934, and a Browning Sweet 16)

Having said that, I owned one of these Stevens model 555 O/U's in .410, it was very well built - but I sold it because it was too 'whippy' for me.

My friend has one in 28 gauge and is absolutely in love with it.

When I bought mine I seem to recall paying around $550 for it (dealer in southern NH)

The only suggestion I would make is I'd be sure to put one to my shoulder before I buy.

As for 16 GA ammo, my experience is in-store inventories are spotty
