Found this thread on a S&W forum I belong to. Found it very interesting. While it is not a 16, I was impressed with the work and transformation.

That is the nicest Nitro Special upgrade I've ever seen. Beats the Busbey Grade done for Col. Busbey at the factory by McGraw. Only thing I'd question is the "Syracuse" on the trigger plate.

Gentlemen,

Very nice upgrade for sure, having an upgraded LeFever/Ithaca NS of my own, I do not question the "Syracuse" on the trigger plate. Bill Brophy had an upgraded gun similar to mine, nobody knew where that gun was upgraded either. Without the documentation I do not question where the upgrade was done, one way or the other.

One mans opinion is as good as another, without documentation.

Perfect timing for this post. I just picked up a 20 N.S. in need of a total redo and some of these touches are indeed part of the plan.
