Dave, I had a major bypass last year, did not know I had an issue as symptoms could easily have been due to my bronchitis. I was getting prepped for a hip replacement and they found it. I have a lot of plaque in my heart. I was surprised that it was not that bad to recover from, I was back to shooting in 8 weeks. Once I knew I needed a new hip I got on the straight and narrow diet, dropped 65 pounds and actually added stuff for the heart diet. So I’ve done my part.
Had surgery on a Thursday and stopped pain meds Saturday evening. Used what they sent home to help sleep from my hip and back pain.

So I hope things go as well for you, one advantage to a bypass over a stent is much less blood thinners. I did have an episode of A fib, but that got resolved in 8 hours, it’s very common for open heart patients to go thru that. I recognized it and it scared me some as I was afraid I would be living with that but most resolve quickly as mine did.

Best of luck, and may God guide the surgeons hands.

Fell free to pm me if you want more details.
Nate

Dave, here's hoping for a favorable outcome with the medical issues. We're all pullin' for ya! - Fin

Gentlemen,

Thanks much I appreciate it, especially the prayers!

Nate,

Man I hope I am as fortunate as you were, with your recovery. Not being able to Grouse hunt would definitely cramp my style.

Kirk,
Good to hear we have another L.C. Smith owner! Thanks for the good thoughts about the up coming operation.
