I was wondering if anyone has used 20/28 powder in a cheddite hull to load semi low pressure 1oz loads? There are a few in the BPI manual but after reading all the negative comments about their data I am concerned. I’m shooting a Remington 1900 with fluid steel barrels. |

What pressure are you looking for?
20/28, like Unique and Universal, are perfect powders for 1 oz. loads in the 16. So 7,000 PSI loads are not reasonable unless the velocity is also quite low.
If you are looking for 8,000 to 9,000 PSI, 20/28 is a good choice.
You will find a lot more data for Unique and Universal. |

I think I would be fine in that 8-9000 psi range. What is considered “low pressure” in a 16ga.? I guess my main concern is the accuracy of the BPI data. How does 20gr with a SG16 wad over a ched. Primer listed at 1255 FPS at 8500psi sound? Also I would like to back it down to 1200 or a touch slower if possible. |

If you are of the opinion that you need low pressure loads you must come up with that pressure range that you deem 'safe'.
SAAMI's maximum for a 16 gauge is 11,500 PSI. |

I use 20/28 with 20gr. 1oz of 7-1/2's In cheddite hull for trap consistently. Handles the clay targets at any range even on shootoffs 10 tp 15 yards behind the 27 yd post with no problem. Same load. |
