Fun morning
Met buds at rifle range at 07:15, David brought breakfast burritos
Test fired 2 16 gauge rounds from a Rem 1100.
Shot a Win 70 sporter in 243, Rem 700 BDL Varmint in 308W with
cast bullets, and a Remington 40X in 22 Long Rifle.
Then to the pistol range and shot a Ruger Blackhawk in 45 Colt and a
handbullt 1911 in 9mm.
Then rat killing and home
At home I loaded 4 boxes of PURPLE Remington 16 gauge hulls using
*57 primers, Rem SP wads, homemade shot, Win Super Handicap powder and Cheerios.
These will be used at the skeet range tomorrow, from some gun yet to
be determined.
What fun, what fun

I would suggest using a vintage gun for those shells! A Win M12 would be perfect or a M21 if you have one. Or in keeping it Remington then a M11 or M31. |

Yesterday, shot two rounds at the rifle range, would have been fine for
hunting but a bit stout for rounds of skeet with a light gun.
So I dropped down from 20 grains to 18 grains of powder.
Decided on the Citori today, the A-5 3-Shot, Model 12s, the GECO, and the Krieghoff drilling get 2 1/2 inch loads
Also, I wanted to save my hulls and with body parts getting older and the skeet ranges being filled with shooters waiting their turn, I did not
want to have to pick up hulls for reloading
Shot a 23, Wind was fast out of the East and the high house was jumping
and the low house was taking the elevator down.
We did NOT adjust the targets as we RARELY get and East wind. |
