I have a 16 ga Ithaca 37 Featherlight for sale. Most of the guns I have disposed of have been via internet auctions, but I’d like this one to go to a real 16 ga fan, so I’m listing it here. This is an earlier model with a serial number of 740863-2 on the non-ribbed barrel. It’s a nice looking gun with good wood and very nice bluing.

LOP is 14-3/4” to a Noshoc pad. DAH is 2-1/2". I do have a couple of Ithaca butt plates, so if someone can tell me the right pattern, I may be able to provide one of those if you want it.

Blue is about 100% with a few small blemishes on the receiver, which show on the pictures. The wood has only a few small marks, the only serious one being right next to the butt pad.

The barrel length is 28", choked .013 (marked “mod”), and no poly choke.

The only bluing wear is from the slide on the magazine tube, also shown in the pictures.

The gun does have some warts you should be aware of. One is, as mentioned, the wood right next to the butt pad – probably from the pad installation. The pictures show this. Another is a small scratch on the barrel next to the lug – also shown in the pictures.

The threads for the magazine tube look like they’ve been “buggered” a bit, but accept the tube cap just fine. If you look at the tube cap, you can see that somebody has probably used a pair of pliers on it. Probably both these conditions are related.

I’ve gotten some guidance as to value from this site, so I will entertain offers over $225. Best offer between now and midnight (CST) on January 8 takes the gun. Of course, it must be shipped to the holder of a current FFL.

Confused Picture color doesn't look right, I'll see if I can fix that.

Confused Well that's no better! You can check these links until I get this figured out:

Smile Ahah! Finally got the picture thing resolved!

Have you shot it much? Do you know how well it functions?

When my Model 37 wore out, it was dropping the third shell out the bottom when I would load the second shell (after the first shot).

Does that make sense?

Thanks- Mike K.

The weight is 6 lb. , 6 oz.

For everybody, maybe I was unclear. The gun will go to the best offer. I picked the 8th, so I can watch the Championship Game. If there are two offers, the same, it will go to the first one.

Makes sense to me - sort of. No I haven't shot it much. It followed me home several months ago and seemed like a good idea at the time. However, when I shoulder the gun, it feels like it's pointing straight up. The 2.5" DAH just doesn't feel right after years of shooting old doubles with more of a dog-leg configuration. I cycled the gun several times with dummies and all mechanicals seem just fine.

Your PM came through just fine. I answered it. No waterfowl plug.

Congrats to the buyer and the seller. Now, I'm just crude and unsophisticated to ask, "How much?"

congrats to both parties. i'd have been in the fray if the gun had a ribbed barrel. I can't shoot a plain barreled gun without topping the target or shooting over. I started with a ribbed barrel. Nice gun. Now TP, go buy another. Britgun, enjoy! Very Happy
