Sorry if this has been shared in the past.
Starting to look closer at Bismuth loading, goal being getting a few fixed choke older 16's in the blind or boat a little more. Stumbled across this and found it very informative and better yet by one who frequents this forum.

Thank you Dave, appreciate your talent and effort, well done.
Also, Rotometals allows sample bags of the different sizes of shot rather than having to purchase a mother load. So several bags of the different sizes are on their way. + things are on sale over there at the moment. |

Thx for the kind words, putz!
Since I wrote that, BPI removed all their 7/8oz and heavier 28ga bismuth loads for unknown reason. Also Boss shotshells started, with their nice 16ga load of 5s that measure out at a more pleasing 4.5 diameter size.
Wow Benjo, double tags, really cool! |

No sweat, credit where due...regardless of what is currently available, I see the most valuable info being the steel/bis pellet comparison and where performance sweet spots shine. The recoil energy comparative is a preemptive eye opener, using my #10-11 10ga's compared to a #7-8 16ga is certainly worth looking into especially since I'm not getting any younger.
Nice job Benjo! So, using Bis will yield an increase of bling on the call lanyard?? I'm in! Double thumbs up!! |
