Feisty little critter he is. Has already pointed and been spurred by roosters. Brought back 3 birds in that small mouth of his. |

Rahne was an outstanding hunting partner, in my mind where it mattered anyhow. She pointed the first true double I've shot. The barrels were oriented incorrectly, I think it still counts though.
For the grouses in the woods, Beem and Skye and a "report pair" double which to me doesn't count as a real double. Here's Beem back at the cabin.
Skye with my friend's white setters.
And Skye's leg at the scene of the near-event.
Beem's almost 14, Skye left us early with a kidney disease. Haven't gotten the young dogs to the woods yet, they've done pretty well on the prairie. I'll say Gin is backing Crow, but really I think she just caught the scent at the same time.

Sure Dave. Always happy to talk about bird dogs. I'll keep it simple. She is an Epagneul Francais. A pleasure to hunt behind and a joyful family member. A lot of natural ability. The kind of dog that just knows how to find birds. Steady pace but she can cover ground when she wants. Range in the woods is variable as it should be. Typically 40-100 yards but not unusual to see 125-175 yards. Solid on WC and the last two seasons has been handling grouse really well. In general that has been my observations after four seasons. No complaints.

Gentlemen,
Our latest Ryman Blue Belton Grouse pup from Wyssfiresidesetters in WI. I just got the pictures today. Her name will be Pine Creek Ryman Maggie May. Call name will be Maggie or Mags. I am looking forward to having her home here in Pa in a few weeks. It will be nice having 2 Ryman Blue Belton Grouse dogs in our home kennel. Mike advises she has been helping him out in his work shop. Looks like another beautiful Ryman pup for Pine Creek Grouse Dog Trainers.
We thank Wyssfiresidesetters very very much.

hayseed,
Actually to me the pup looks to have an old soul already. Usually this is a good thing for a Grouse dog.
