Here's a tiny little Belgian guild 16 I picked up recently and I thought I would show it off. It's one of the nicest condition little Belgian guns I've ever run across. 30" m/f fluid barrels like new, tight and lever right and crisp, just a wonderful little gun. Of course, I couldn't resist fixing it up, re-cutting the checkering, enhancing the grain, and adding a custom pheasant painting. It's on such a dainty, tiny little frame too. Feels like a 28 gauge in the hands, with that small round frame back action design. Shot some skeet with it last weekend. It's already sold pending funds, but I wanted to present this as an example of when 16's are at their best, in my humble opinion. Just a little sweetheart of a gun.

Looks awesome, Mark. Must be a wand. My first decent double was a 16 gauge Belgian Guild with carved fences and took 18 grouse with it the year I got it.

I cover my artwork with a few coats of polyurethane, followed by block sanding and multiple coats of pro custom oil, which is an oil/urethane blend, followed by hand rubbing with stock rubbing compound.

To me a 16 gauge back action hammer gun is the sweetest handling gun ever made and I can blame Mark for my addiction. Laughing Laughing

Its a beauty, Mark. Thanks for the pics. Did you do your grain addition/enhancement treatment on this one, too?

I just picked up a little back action 20 ga hammer gun with 2 sets of barrels. A set of 30" Damascus cyl/cyl with which the gun weighs 5 lbs 7 oz and a set of 30 " fluid steel choked cyl/full weighing in at 5lbs 13 oz. It has a straight grip 14 1/2" LOP. Both have 70 mm( 2 3/4") chambers marked nitro proofed. It was made be George Forrester and sons, Kelso, Scotland--was able to find some info on the internet on him. It has become my favorite, haven't missed a pheasant with it yet(6), cant wait for next grouse season. If you like hammer guns, you would love this one.

Thank you. Yes I did, but I didn't go crazy with it. I didn't want to draw too much attention away from the artwork.
