All,
Per my earlier post, I am switching to No. 6 for grouse in my 2 1/2" guns. And BTW, some of the spruce grouse out here get as fat as geese, no kidding.
But I have zero No. 6 shot except for some intact Fed ammo which I am loath to cut open. So I need 2-3 lbs of No. 6. Yes, I could go to our club shed and pick up 25 lbs but I hate few things worse than waste, which is what that would be.
If anyone knows of a source of a few lbs of No. 6, please advise. I don't see any online. Or if you have a bit to spare, please PM me for sale or trade.

PS, Spruce Grouse are indeed dumb as they say. One heard the putt putt of my motorcycle, dashed out of the brush and chased me down the street. Another became a deer camp pet for some buddies up the road for a few seasons. It would perch on the barrels of their guns. |

I can help...I'm over stocked by ~#90 Chilled & ~#23 Magnum #6 lead. Be happy to work something out. PM for details.
Possible trade items; SG16 wads, any common target sized lead shot reclaimed or new #9-7.5, 2 1 B or BB Bismuth shot, 1 T TT or F steel shot, RSI SAM1 10ga wads, .357-.358" bullets, 357max brass, .460"x 400-440g cast&waxed bullets, 45-70 brass, w209 primers, cci500 or 550m primers, or of course $. |

Lead. Worst case, I could purchase a couple boxes of cheap 12 GA No. 6 at Wallys and cut them open, but it's still wasteful and kind of hate to do that.

| Not wasteful. Don't cut the ends, squeeze em. Dump the 6's and replace with reclaimed or whatever, recrimp and shoot em up. Wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to do a bunch, but you say you only need pounds worth. |

| if you bought a bag of 6's you could also use them on Pheasant, quail, and chukar in Eastern WA... |

| Why not a 10 lb bag of nickel plated from Precision. It’s awesome stuff and all I use on grouse any more in my reloads. I use 7’s early on then go all 6’s once the leaves are gone and even use 6 in the 2nd barrel when the leaves are on. A #6 pellet has a lot more energy past 30 yards than a 7-1/2. I’ve killed numerous grouse with just one #6. |

Great idea, that's probably what I will do if this first small batch works out the way I hope.
Probably won't need 25 lbs, that's 400 rounds! Grouse are pretty much an early season proposition out here. Come mid-October we have Deer, Elk, Bear, Cougar, waterfowl and whatnot to pursue, not to mention the Pheasant Release sites. A late December stroll in the woods can turn up a grouse or two but they are much wiser to our schemes at that point.
