I should have added to my post that I'm 69 1/2 and I'm all into light guns for field use. The A5 is easy for me to carry over a long hunt. It also fits me very well: 6' tall, 220 lbs. with long arms.

I feel pretty silly now. After posting my previous post I have tried carrying the gun with my right hand slightly back. With my last two fingers on the cap of the grip my index finger rides just below and up against the side of the safety. I can begin to mount, remove the safety and my hand easily slides forward to my normal firing position. So simple. Next time there will be no more fumbling to remove the safety.

I have had no trouble with my Sweet Sixteen cycling anything I put in it. The only issue I have with mine is the hard trigger pull. The weight of trigger pull is beyond my trigger gauge, and I estimate it to be 8-10 pounds. Does anyone else have that problem?

I did notice initially that the trigger pull seemed a bit stiffer than on my original Belgian A-5's and also stiffer than on my Citori and BPS. But I really liked the way the new A5 fit, its light weight and balance and most of all how well I shot it--so I made up my mind I'd get used to it and after a few rounds of skeet I don't notice it now.

Trigger pulls can be adjusted.

Presume that means file work by a gunsmith?

I bought a new Sweet 16 A5 between Christmas and New Year’s. Never having fired it before I took it to a preserve for pheasants, and found it runs anything well except the RST 2-1/2” low pressure loads with 1oz of #7s that I use for grouse. I have not tried any reloads through it, but I’m going to guess it needs something with some pressure behind it to cycle properly. It sure did a number on the pheasants with both RGL 7-1/2’s and Winchester High Brass 6’s.

A GOOD gunsmith. Had a local smith years ago that was supposed to be good at trigger work do one of my guns and when I got it back it doubled more times than not. My list of gunsmiths for trigger work is short now. Briley of course is always going to be good. Phillip Crenwelge is probably the best in the US for trigger work. John Singer on here did the trigger on my 16 ga. CZ Sharptail and I would let him do any gun I own.
