A fellow in the squad before me on the trap line had a old single shot 16ga firing Winchester hulls and through them away. I promptly pulled the ones I could wrangle from the garbage can, my first Winchester hulls.
Wow! What a nice reloading hull! |

Congrats bs161977, enjoy.
Maybe we ought to start a thread to see who has the most CF hulls on hand. I think I have somewhere around 1,000, but I'd have to take a closer look to come up with a total. New shells: About 300 Dove and Quail, 150 CF Win Steel, 50 Mark 5. Reloads: About 100 loaded up Dove and Quail, about 75 loaded up Mark 5, about 50 loaded up Steel. Empty Hulls: About 300 various Dove and Quail, Mark 5, Uplands, from once fired to probably 10x fired. I also have a flat of new Win American made straight walled 8 crimp hulls made just after Dove and Quail were discontinued that may very well rival Dove and Quail hulls for reloadability--to early to tell.
Enough to keep me bird hunting for a while, I think. Or to pass them on to another 16 gauge hunter/reloader if I get too old to hunt one of these days.
How many do you have fn16ga, bs161977, win7stw, WyoChukar? Or is it a secret?

I'm at work now but that sounds fun, ill get a count and post the results as long as no one laughs at me or puts together a group to come and do a intervention, I don't want you all putting me in some sort of nut house lol. |

Ok lol, not as bad as I had previously thought.
Factory shells, some in sealed flats some loose boxes but never opened.
Rabbit & squirrel, dove & quail, xpert, pheasant, and xx magnum all different shot sizes #2-#9 basically, there 262 boxes.
I have 70 boxes of reloades currently all low brass 8 crimp like the dove hulls.
These vary 1x reloaded to some 10x but I discard them after they start splitting so all good hulls.
I have 24 ziplock bags of 100 each bag 1x hulls all low brass 8 crimp hulls.
And I have my bucket by my reloading desk that holds about 750 hulls that I use when I come in from Shooting, I throw my empties in it and when it's full I sit down and reload. It is about 3/4 full at the moment so good guess would be 500 in there some 1x fired some up to 10x.
Then I have a bucket that I throw 6 crimp in cause I keep 6 and 8 separate, maybe a couple hundred in there |
