Are you sure?

When I looked up definitions I was surprised Nebraska and Kansas were included. I found this from three different sources.

Mid·west (mĭd-wĕst′) or Middle West
A region of the north-central United States around the Great Lakes and the upper Mississippi Valley. It is generally considered to include Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska. The area is known for its rich farmlands and highly industrialized centers.

If you don’t mind me asking, what’s the nearest town to your place?

Congratulations on finally finding "the right spot"!

I may be through your way in Sept. or early Oct. depending on schedules. There is some really good crane hunting north of you and the grouse/hun hunting can be mighty good too. I'm in the early stages of planning right now. Stay in touch, I know a lot of good ground in that state.

Get yourself an ice shack, you'll be glad you did. Winter is long and there are a tremendous number of good ice fishing opportunities near your new home.

Wyo,

There are so many good fishing lakes, right near me. Seems like a lot of hunting areas too. Just have to investigate a bit.

The real estate agent shot a moose last year about 2 miles NW of this place.

Trying to get there before Oct 1....lots of moving parts.

Well, we finally got the job done. As some of you know I have been looking for a place to live in South Dakota. Saw a place in North Dakota on Zillow and on a whim I loaded up the pickup and drove to North Dakota with my wife and my two GSP's on about 18 hours notice. We both fell in love with the place and ended up finding a nice house with a few acres located in between Minot and Bismarck on a gravel road. Lots of moving parts before we move but I think that all should go reasonably to plan.

Yeeeeehaaaawwwww! What a great 10 day trip it has been.

Decided back in 1993 that some day after I retired I would end up in the midwest. Took me almost a year after I retired to do it but.....just try to wipe the smile off my face!!

WELCOME to the great and free state of North Dakota!!! You sure made the right move. I know your going to enjoy and love my home state, now your home state, the best state in the union.

You're going to find some good hunting in your neck of the woods. I hunt ducks and grouse by Regan and Tuttle. Some good upland hunting by Wing also. There are plenty of PLOTS up there, but they can be iffy. Just NW of Wilton there is a very good WPA that holds decent amount of Pheasants. Just look around and get to know your neighbors and they'll point the way for you.

Again, welcome to NoDak! Folks like you are an asset when you move here.

Stay well and have a safe moving experience when you move here.

Best Reagrds!

Greg

On Monday, 9/14/2020, we left for North Dakota. I was driving a 26' box truck towing my wife's car and she was driving my pickup with our two GSP's. The CT house was to close on 9/15/2020 with the proceeds being wired to the title company in Minot, for the closing on 9/17/2020.

The trip went well, we didn't rush, took 3 days to get to Bismarck. On 9/15, the house in CT closed. On 9/17 we closed on the house in ND.

Yeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaawwwwww!!!

I will be ready for the pheasant opener and hope to chase a few sharpies before then!!
