Good afternoon,

I stopped at a gun shop this afternoon and upon their rack, was a newer made Ithaca 37 16 gauge. The gun has a 28” barrel with choke tubes and I would guess it’s in 98% condition or better. The price is $600. I had to hold it and I will say it fits me very nicely and I really liked it. I have never owned an Ithaca 37 as I was always a model 12 guy, but I really liked it. I can’t seem to get it off my mind, but I’m curious what anyone’s experience with the new guns are? Pro’s? Con’s?

Owned one of the new 37s for exactly fifty shots at clays. Shot it well and function was fine. It’s a very heavy gun, so I sold it.

I owned an Ithaca 37 in 12 ga a number of years back, it was ‘OK’ but I traded after a season. I think the older model 37’s were vastly superior.

I have a 12 gauge Ohio gun. Excellent gun but a bit heavy. Not a problem as it's a waterfowl gun. (Mostly geese) I use prewar 16's 98% of the time. In my humble opinion you'll be pleased with it. I believe they only made one run of 250 in 16 so you would have a bit of a rarity.
