I stopped at a gun shop this afternoon and upon their rack, was a newer made Ithaca 37 16 gauge. The gun has a 28Ē barrel with choke tubes and I would guess itís in 98% condition or better. The price is $600. I had to hold it and I will say it fits me very nicely and I really liked it. I have never owned an Ithaca 37 as I was always a model 12 guy, but I really liked it. I canít seem to get it off my mind, but Iím curious what anyoneís experience with the new guns are? Proís? Conís?
I have a 12 gauge Ohio gun. Excellent gun but a bit heavy. Not a problem as it's a waterfowl gun. (Mostly geese) I use prewar 16's 98% of the time. In my humble opinion you'll be pleased with it. I believe they only made one run of 250 in 16 so you would have a bit of a rarity.
