Anyone going this year? We are still planning on going beingthere for first three days. Covid supposed to be bad out there, we are still staying at the same place but my buddy is dragging a 32 foot trailer to park at a local campground so we will eat breakfast and dinner there. We go there everyday to run and relieve the dogs . No Cabelas on the way out and no Al's Oasis except to maybe buy a shirt!

i'm not going but it;s nothing to do with covid. Everyone but me didn't want to go this year. I'd would have gone in a heartbeat. Is covid bad there? I know they had Sturgis. I know that's not just people from SD. I have friends here in Ala that go to that each year. But did it make it worse?

North and South Dakota were listed as no no states I'm told uptick in numbers. I checked Brule County where we go and there are 15 cases I believe. So I'm not overly concerned we will social distance and eat our meals as stated earlier. I think I have to quarantine when I get back home. Should be no problem being by myself in a tree, waders or brush pants.

Next Wednesday I'm headed to Jerauld County, SD - the next county North and East from Brule.

I'm not overly concerned about the risk but will take precautions - N95 mask while travelling, wash hands often, stay away from others as much as possible.

Just got back had a great time and another great hunt. Used my A5 the whole time . Shame on me but I never took my 16 Citori III out of the truck. Here are a couple pics. lots of birds fell to the 16 purple shells and the Fiocchi GF. I think another 16ga.fan is in the making. he loved the A5's myself and buddy were shooting. We shot a lot of birds over points this year, there was a heavier cover so they did not run as much. I drove straight though by myself 23 hours a couple naps on the way. I'll give Cooper a day off then his the woodcock and grouse here. Best to you all! Joe

Not going there this year. But am going to Ks for the pheasant opener there. Hunted a few times at one of the “guided hunts” in sodak. The birds were planted a hour or two before we walked the fields. Not saying there’s anything wrong with that, but I can drive 45 minutes and hunt caged pheasants vs five hours to sodak. And there is a difference between wild and pen raised.

Last year was the first year I used a 16 gauge out there for most of my birds. I've always used a 12 out of habit, but I had a shaky start with my 12 gauge last year and quickly went to my 16 gauge SxS and never shot better. This year I'll start with a 16 gauge SxS and have the 12 as a backup. I don't think I'll need it.
