I'm posting these pictures for member DF. Pretty classy!

I'll let DF take over on the commentary.

After some discussions on this board, I decided to send my new SW16 to Mark Larson in Portland, for some “woodwork.”
I really don’t care for the Browning ultra glossy urethane type of finish on their guns, and I also didn’t like the pistol grip angle on this shotgun. Mark has the talent to make the alterations to correct those dislikes. While making those changes, I asked Mark to do some “grain enhancement”.
The work is completed and Mark sent me the pics that Dave posted for me. Basis the pics, I’m sure pleased with the results.
Thanks for posting the pics Dave.
This SW16 will be pheasant hunting in Ks in three weeks.

I have a Browning New A5 Sweet 16 which has endeared itself to me.

However I am considering having the stock modified to a POW style, then again I am open to suggestion.

I am not sure about wood grain enhancement - primarily because I don’t know what that comprises, is it worth it, and how much it costs.

So I am gathering information, and I would like some comparative comments -

Who specifically can do this work ?, how much does it cost?, how long long does it take ?, do you ship the entire gun ?, how do you ship it (I.e. best type of shipping container or containment), and what is the preferred shipping method (I.e. Fedex, UPS, etc.).

Bill- I will start with the shipping. I like fedex. They haven’t let me down. The best option is to call mark and talk to him. He is a really nice guy and will answer all your questions. I will be sending him some work after the first of the year, he answered all my questions. I’m sure there are others that can re do your stock, however, mark post here, so he is one of us. He has many pictures posted, so you can see his work, and there are others that will back up his work, that also post here. And lastly the cost is easy, ask him when you talk to him. The price he quoted me was very fair.

It's pretty nice to take Mark's unique talents and combine it with a nice handling light modern shotgun that fits and can use any factory ammo. It's sort of the best of both worlds. DF's A5 SW16 and my "Lasonized" Iside below are prime candidates for this work.
