Off topic a bit, but I see Tristar also recently came out with the straight and pistol grip Bristol sxs, but only in a 12 and 20, and only with a single trigger. Looks nicer than a Bobwhite. They are about $850. Interesting to see if they end up making it in a 16.

Actually every gauge BUT the 16 and only 28 inchers. Where did you see them for $850? |

I picked up the Viper G2 16 gauge yesterday morning. I brought it home and disassembled it for a good initial cleaning. It was very easy to disassemble and is so close to a Remington 1100 that it is shocking. Of course the biggest difference is the action spring under the forearm instead of in the stock like the 1100’s. I took it out and fired 6 rounds of my HV steel loads and it worked wonderfully.
1-22-21 I took it crow hunting this morning and was able to put a box of shells through it. It worked flawlessly. It is light at only 6lbs 6oz, shoulders and swings great. I plan on taking it out to pattern this week to see how accurate the choke markings are. I will keep everyone posted on any further updates. |

I saw that wood on another forum, and got envy then. The wood on my 20 guage bronze looks like traditional pallet wood, zero grain at all. If you're buying it for the wood, you better see it in pics, not just stock photos. |

Correct, place I bought it had five, one other was very nice tiger stripe that was purchased early. This one stuck around a bit, I’ve bought a couple guns lately so wasn’t in the market but figured I should snag it. The other Vipers had much plainer stocks, Id definitely say better than an average low cost field gun but definitely not all like the one I picked up. So, I definitely wouldn’t buy sight unseen and expect this, but I’d say if you found a shop that has a few in stock you could pick one out with at least some figure to it. |
