I've always found it interesting that some hulls of the next larger bore can sometimes sleeve over the next smaller gauge, some oldschoolers I've known used a 12/10ga combo to carry blue tip matches in their kit bag.
In fact I've experimented using 12ga hulls stripped of their bases as 10ga steel wads. Actually works but needs further "messing around".
I also see the same buckling issue with the Herters, I've found that a Win 12ga AA hull (very tough/stiff plastic) cut to whatever length is needed works pretty well for supporting the 16ga hulls while crimping if buckling is an issue. |

| Mark, if you make a larger diameter bushing...you can add it to the bottom of your crimp die with a split collar made from a piece of PVC (use two hose clamps). That's basically what I did when I used to load 3 1/2" 12 ga. shells. This way you don't need to slide it on and off of every single hull- speeds things up greatly since it is now part of the crimp die. |

I've used a 12ga-16ga hull combination for a match safe since I was in Boy Scouts.
Works. |

Interesting, I find the SG16S (short) to actually have more capacity than the standard SG16. The short version has a single row of thin blades in the powder cup instead of all the nubbins which fill the cup in the standard version.

I use 2o gr of 20/28 for 1oz. 1248 fps. Didncare for the rest after finding 20/28. |

| I make 1oz RST equivalent loads with them, cutting to 2.5", roll crimp and 20gr universal. Great load that crushes targets and is deadly on birds. |

| Greendot Universal and 20/28 are good for 1oz loads and Bluedot will work for 1 1/8oz , yes straight wall data should work. |
