Anyone have any Federal hulls they can part with? Need a bunch so I can work up some 2.5" 1 1/8oz roll crimped long range chukar loads. 50-100 would be enough. Just drop me a pm or email at mark@marklarsonart.com and let me know how much you want for them.
Thanks! |

The 16 ga Feds that I have are loaded so I'm guessing you aren't interested in those. If you wanted 12 ga, I do have some Gold Medals That I could part with to a good home. |

Does anyone here load Gold Medal paper hulls, cut down for 2 1/2”, with an ounce of shot? This would be for a 12 gauge. What components do you use?
I used to be able to buy more than enough short 12s to keep the single short chamber gun I still own running, but, that has become impossible.
Thanks in advance,
Best,
Ted |

I should have been more clear, that I'm looking for 16ga Federals. Appreciate the replies!
Dean, which UA were you referring to? Feel free to pm me. |

Mark, for what it is worth, I have been loading some fold crimp 1 ounce buffered loads for long shots at chukar in 2 1/2" hulls (Rem, Ched, and Fed) and been very impressed with them. Considering the performance level, I wouldn't bother roll crimping for the extra 1/8 oz. of shot at this point. I have some Federals, but the reload count on them is getting high enough that I wouldn't be willing to send them to anyone, they might not last much longer.
Ted, I recently started loading 2 1/2" 12 ga. for a friend but the closest I have come to your hull is 2 1/2" Cheddite style hulls. I have also been loading 2 1/2" Rem STS cut downs and like those a lot. We haven't messed with paper or paper base wad hulls in the gun, but I will admit papers sure do smell nice when fired. |

Federal is right up the street from me. I have access to lots of them, at slim cost.
I didn’t actually think about the smell of them, but, there is that.
Best,
Ted |

Forgot to mention, you should check the hulls for stowaway quail feathers. |
