Hello guys. I have owned a PW 375 for almost a decade and never was able to get it to work. turns out it was set up for paper hulls... Anyway, I sent it to PW 4 weeks ago to get upgraded and set up for 2.75" hulls. It came back cleaned and ready. I had sent them my two sizing dies, one for 21/2" hulls (1.810") length and one for 23/4" hulls measuring 2.105" length. The sent me a new taper crimp die installed and the shorter stem etc I would need for 21/2" hulls. They also sent me a new sizing die that is 2.360" in length. A 23/4" hull inserted in the die leaves on about an 1/8" of hull poking out of the die. Calls to them assure me this is the correct die. Still, I'm not seeing how this will work as there is so little area protruding to start a crimp on. Can any of you PW375ers shed some light on this? PW was not much help. They just insist that this is the correct sizing die for the newer taper crimp set up.

Are you sure your 2 3/4" hull is actually 2.75" long ? |

I made my own sizing die for 410 because I use an adapted gaep pre crimp on my 375 press. I very carefully took it to a grinder and grinded it down and then put a nice bevel on it. Works like a champ. I do use the new taper crimp die at the last stage. |

My 16 gauge die measured 2.185. Interestingly my 12 die was shorter at around 2.08 |

Fiocchi hulls measure 2.529" or 64.26 mm
Remington Blacks measure 2.529" or 64.14mm
My dies measure 1.833", 2.059" and 2.361". This last one is the new one they included.
Using the 2.059 die, the hull extends .477" beyond the die. With the 2.361" die, the hull extends 0.15" |

So basically, your hulls are 2 1/2", your dies for 2.5" hulls should work. |

To me it seems like the 2.361 die is for a 3" hull. Not that there are any 3" 16 gauges laying around |

my old non-taper crimp 2 3/4" 12 gauge die measures 2.30". I'm not sure if that helps. |

Your repliers don't know anything about an early 375. The small protrusion is correct for an early 375. That is the way it is supposed to be. This is the non taper crimp model. I have used the non taper crimp 375 for fifty years and it works fine. You don't need any stinkin' taper crimp. |
