A while back someone wanted to know if there were any published loads foe a 1-3/8 load. I new I seen one some place and I ran across it on one of the spreadsheets I have.
If theirs still interest in it I will put it on here or pm the load to whom may want it. It's 1250 fps and approaching max pressures using steel powder. |

Hull- BP Multi OVL- 2 3/4 Load-1 3/8 Powder- Steel Chrg- 25gr Wad- mm16. PSI. 11300 FPS- 1350
Remarks, approaching SAAMI pressure _/4 slits, nickleplated#6 mica dust wad. Ref. BPI
I don't know how accurate BPI happens to be but from what I've read in the past the info seems to be some what questionable |

Thanks for posting the recipe. I'm a skeptic regarding BPI data in general, but, in this instance it seems from referencing my testing data developing a 1.375oz Bis load dovetailing off 16gaDavis' BlueDot 1.375 bunkerbuster, one load sent in with 27g ASteel proved WAY over pressure and one sent in w/23g ASteel came in well under pressure I settled on a charge between these 2 extremes but haven't sent it in for testing yet. So, intuitively it seems to me that this BPI data is plausible.
Again, thanks for posting. |

Putz. We're you able to get a fps from a chronograph. I'd be very interested to know the pressure and fps on the one your settling on between.

Is the mm16 wad the 1680 wad? |

Depends....It's my understanding that the MM16=VP80=PT1680 and BPI claims the BP1680 is different. It seems to be a little different at least for this IMO mild early season in the dekes load. Saw similar differences in my 10ga loads with the "new" wads made onshore. Had to tweak/retest a couple of them, woohoo.
Sent 5ea to PR for testing; Ched once fired, Ched209, 25.5 Asteel, *Wad, 24ga OSC, 7/8 #5 steel, 6 fold.
* PT1680;
1434fps, SD20 , EV43
10982psi, SD518, EV1420
* BP1680;
1463, 11, 31
9898, 787, 1710
Hammer Bill, I have not tested the compromise load, albeit it has a different wad in it than the one above. Truth be told, I did pattern it with 1 3/8oz of BPI BB Biz through several guns and chokes but never could get it to pattern as well as MSM2019' 1 1/8oz Bis load w/buffer. The pattern averages in a 20" circle were more or less the same out to 40y+ so figured why keep "wasting" the extra pellets and powder when, in this go round, less turned out to be more all things considered. If/when I do test it for closure sake, I will share, but it's a chore to assemble, kinda 6lbs of potatoes in a 5lb bucket sorta thing. |
