I just wanted to give a shout out to Pine Creek/Dave. We definitely don't think the same about shotguns and hunting traditions. SxS's for me are wonderful to look at but the devil in disguise for me to shoot. Dave obviously has some very old, family hunting traditions that he has lived all of his life. I am the first in my family on either side for at least 4 generations to hunt upland birds, so I am kinda making my own traditions.

However his posts here and on SGW are very much appreciated. I read them with a smile many times and others I must say that I grit my teeth, but I never ignore them.

Thank you Pine Creek/Dave for your posts.

Have a great hunting season Sir!!

All my best,

Mark

MSM2019,

Mark thanks much for the nice words, I know I have grown up in a different manner than most sportsman living today. My family traditions are as old as the mountains we live in, here in Pa. Each sportsman must choose his own way of upland hunting, I try to pass on ours, especially to the younger generations of upland hunters. The reason I talk about George Bird Evens is that he put into words most of those traditions, for the rest of the world to read in his upland shooting life books. I know ethical hunting means different things to different sportsman who have grown up in different parts of our country. In our own way we hope to pass on our upland shooting life, to anyone who wants to become a shooting sportsman. Yes and fine double guns and great Grouse dogs are definitely part of those traditions.

Mark I wish you lived out this way so we could spend time Grouse hunting together, you might not grit your teeth so much. Have a great hunting season also.

Swampy16,
Thank you sire for your nice words!

all the best,

Pine Creek/Dave
