I know, not 16ga, I'll defeat the post if anyone if offended. I see it as interesting to sub gauge folks and may be of value to ammo collectors. Didn't know a 3.5" 20ga existed...No interest in owning them other than the curiosity of it....

I think it was made 3.5" to keep them out of normal 20 ga guns. I could be wrong about that.

Hastings made the barrels and the ammo for magnum receivers if I remember correctly?

A 3" 20 gauge shell is a waste of money. Seems to me I read a while back about a test that proved the pattern isn't better, or denser, but the shot string gets longer.

So yeah, if you're a terrible shot and tend to lead too much and shoot in front of the target, I suppose it's one way to strafe whatever you're shooting at out of the sky.

Or, one just practice a bit more, or use a 16 or a 12.

Although a 3" 20 gauge sabot slug through a rifled barrel does make for a good deer round where you can't legally use a rifle.

They made a specially bored gun for the shells.

I think that was the whole idea.

Hastings is in the business of making aftermarket gun barrels and Rifled Slugs.

https://www.gunbroker.com/Shotgun-Barrels/search?Keywords=Hastings&Sort=13&PageSize=96

It's a custom gun made by Hagn.
If you look at the bottom of the Guns Intl. ad it states:
"Built as a display piece for Hastings Ammunition.

Interesting, seems they were made for the Thompson Encore series rifles too.
