The 16ga trap commanders (or whatever their desig.) are also on sale in that E-flyer .

I've got a bunch of the Fiocchi pre primed hulls, and I'm not a fan...

I use them for a couple of my hunting loads, seem to work OK. The Blue color easily ID's them as Goose loads when all jumbled in the kit bag.

Care to share why you're not a fan of them.

My experience is that they split and don't last more than a couple loadings.

I don't like them except for the color.

I find that Fio hulls crimp well and reload easily, especially for 2 1/2” loads. My chief concern is the tendency for the base wad to unseat after a couple reloads, which is very undesirable in any shotgun hull. Fed basewads will occasionally unseat, but not at the rate of the Fios. Be very attentive for loose basewads when repriming Fio hulls. A very shallow or bulging crimp is another sign of an unseated basewad.

Very interesting, another reason to check the barrels after a shot!

I have not experienced this with many reloads on Fed hulls, way past when others would throw them out. Haven’t reloaded too many Fio’s, but I do have a bunch of new & once fired. Either way, something to watch out for.

Picked up 50 Fios at the range one day. Really nice looking hulls and what a nice color. Then I reloaded them and after the 2nd loading they were in the trash can. Had all of the problems mentioned above. Next time I see some they will stay in the trash can for someone else. Glad I didn't spend good money for them.

Fiocchi's are OK if that's all there is but, they are a pain to get a nice first crimp on. They seem soft to me. I have some older 67MM ones that are OK. They roll crimp fine. I like just about any other hull better than the Fiocchi.

I bought them because it was all I could get, and I find that they have a larger ID than other hulls, so none of the wads I have fit well. The plastic is soft and even though I skive the hull mouth, they do not have a clean first crimp. I'm just going to use them once and toss them.

I've haven't had a base wad move in my Fio's yet, although I don't use them for high volume, so will keep an eye (ear) on them for any unusual behavior.

Good stuff to know, thanks all for sharing.

On my MEC JR , there is wear marks from seating many primers . When a pulled base shows up , the seating won't be every close to that mark and that case comes out . You can power seat the primer , but you'll get the same problem or worse when that shell gets fired . Early Win HS cases were horrible for this , and how do you tell an oldie from a newie now !
