Was feeling left out with the other Model 12 thread. Saw this one , 1923 vintage, on the used rack at Bass Pro 10 days ago, asking $400, got it for $325, beats a new Turkish gun I guess…And picked up a used Franchi Affinity 3 for my boy for duck hunting while I was at it.
Yeah it’s a gray rat with some warts, but it’ll work for me for now. Might have to refinish it at some point. Dad just loaded up a box of short shells for it. Will get to shoot it after Easter dinner Sunday.

Good for you. I’m assuming you got it at the corner of Sunshine and Campbell. I worked my way through college (SMS) at a restaurant on that corner (The Shady Inn) but later a local fellow tore it down and put a little neighborhood sporting goods store there.
Hope your “new” M12 keeps a smile on your face. |

Rogers, AR actually (was Cabela’s, but now it’s labeled as a BPS, think they’re phasing out all Cabelas, KC is now BPS too) It’s exactly an hour to either Rogers or Springfield stores for me. Ol’ Johnny has done well for himself. He’s buying up everything south of Springfield down by the lakes and making them “destinations”. Good for him, I still try to buy elsewhere if all things are equal though. |

LLoyd -I don't know if I'da saved money . IF . Nick had invented the DR 60 yrs ago , and we'ed noticed the diff between 29/16 and 23/4 M12's ! 1st gun was a cherry 16 M12 , 26'' full and 29/16 . Was 15-20 yrs before anyone explained the diff back then ! Shot a million 23/4 out of that gun . Woulds shot 100 million out of that gun if the DR and 7/8 loads were readily avail !! |
