This sure was a fun time.
I will admit the whole production was like HERDING CAT'S.
I Was Exhausted by the time it was over , not to mention couldn't keep the mind in the game for all the HERDING CAT'S phenomenon.
Smiling was remembering Doug choking that rooster 🐓.
And Rocky packing back that rooster 🐓 that we both shot , can one say hamburger.
Then Rocky and Brent being caught by Federal Game Wardens boarding the plane.
Smiling 😊

That was the second week of October 2008.
Brent left us in 2019, Doug departed in 2013 ?
The bust by Ric Grozt Federal Gamewarden was quite a farce.
No game laws were intentionally broken, just process crimes. |

Thanks for sharing that! You all had a ton of fun. What ever happened to your new hull design?
Thanks,
Ben |

AWESOME Nick !!!! Brings back sooo many fond memories . I started going a yr or two after this and the fun con't . Doesn't everyone look so young in that video ! ... take note of the Browning DA that turned into the 16 , and the ammo that almost made it into production ! |

Hello Ben:
The hull design was a total success.
One could load it 100 times .
That is exactly why I chose not to bring it out .
No planned obsolescence built in .
Folks would buy a few shoot them forever , never buy any more.
Lost enough money on the Wad , simply decided to stop while I had a shirt on my back.
Beware of what you can do .
Regards Nick |

Wish we would bring back the 16 Ga hat that was seen in the video!
I would buy 2 or 3.

Nick,
That is really neat. I understand with the injection mold world being the way it is and the market being as small as it is how a lifetime hull would be hard to make a go of. Even an Alcan hull is overmolded and the inner steel was probably stamped. If you go traditional you would need to draw the brass/steel head then overmold or crimp. If we are ever in the same neck of the woods would love to discuss more over a round of sporting clays or even just a cold beer. Would be curious what your resin blend was comprised of too…
Obviously I made a lot of assumptions. Really appreciate the DR-16 nonetheless!
Back to the point of the thread, Doug was an awesome guy and I joined right before the video. He helped me with a couple things and gave us all a platform to learn and share. We owe a lot to him, and our wives have all probably silently cussed him when another 16 has managed to appear in the safe!
