A good friend was left 2 16 ga guns when his uncle passed. One was a JC Higgins bolt action which for most of us has little interest. The other was a Sweet 16 Browning ser# 685 77729 and he claims the barrel is 27" long( that seems odd to me.)
It has the FN buttplate, looks to be in good condition, but have only seen it in pictures. I'm a SXS guy, have 11 16 ga sxs's and 1 OU. Did they come with 27" barrels. Done a little looking on gunsites but I rarely look at such sites. He asked me about value and I thought perhaps $12-1400, am I in the ballpark?
(I'm not interested in it) |

The barrel should be 27.5"
I take it the serial # starts with 68S not 685
Price will depend on condition and if it has a vent rib and to some degree what choke. |
