| That’s just crazy, but it’s a Browning. Browning collectors get nuts. Being they’re now done making the BPS they’ll all go up in value. |

Could be, I purchased a boat years ago on Ebay that some jacka$$ kept bidding up, grossly past the perceived value of it. Luckily I could communicate with the seller and we both agreed that something fishy was taking place and he promised the boat to me at what I was willing to pay (fair market) for it no matter what since the bidding so obscene. We let the bidding take its course ending at ~5x what it was worth and when he turned out to be a non payer was reported to Ebay although nothing stopping them from starting another account and doing it all over again. |

All it takes is one person that really wants it, and a buddy of the seller to place a bid to jack the price up. I did it when I was selling on Ebay if an item was selling low and there was only one bidder.
This BPS is a bit crazy though. I did not know the BPS was not being made any more. I am out of the loop! |

A couple years ago I was on the other end of shill bidding. I was livid when I found out I had the price ran up on me. I don’t care much for people who play these games |

Yeah, I understand.
It was not often I did that. I was selling a lot at the time.
I had a friend that was also selling and we would 'bump' each other occasionally, but not crazy high, usually just to get it up to what I had into the item.
I have also been on the receiving end of it a few times. If the high bidder backed out after the auction ends and it is offered to me I respond "I will pay what my last bid was before the other person started bidding and no more". Sometimes it worked, sometimes not. It did not happen very often. |
