The Univ of Washington is having a cooperative event with the state dept of Fish & Wildlife involving 16 students who haven't hunted but are interested. A mentor will be assigned to each hunter and each group of 2 or 4 will have at least one dog and handler. farm raised pheasants will be released shortly before the hunters start "hunting". While DFW is providing guns and ammo (mostly Rem 870s) in order to give a proper impression I will be taking a Browning Superposed 20 ga, Parker VH 20, and a Win 21 16ga. It is state land so they require factory loaded No-Tox ammo. I have located 20 ga 2 3/4 & 3" and 16 ga 2 3/4 No Tox but would like to take a Parker VH 16 ga if I could locate No-Tox 16 ga 2 9/16" ammo. I've searched the various suppliers and can find no one that makes it.
Does anyone know of a manufacture who produces No Tox 16 ga in anything shorter than 2 3/4"? |

Boss has 16 ga 2-9/16" Bismuth, 1-1/8 oz, 1240 fps, various shot sizes including a combo load. |

The boss shells are good shells. I shoot them. |

I still have a bunch of the 2-3/4”, I have had only one dud which may have gotten wet. I have not bought any 2-9/16” as I don’t need them currently. Ducks die at good ranges, good patterns. I did waterproof the rest of my stash after the dud. |

THANKS for the info on Boss. I ordered 3 boxes of #5 copper plated bismuth. So the college students at the mentored hunt, in addition to the game dept guns (Rem 870 and 1100s) will get a taste of the OTHER way to hunt pheasants: A Browning Superposed 20 ga 3"; 2 Parker VH 20 2 3/4 & 16 2 9/16; and Win 21 16 2 3/4. The shooters will get some range time with clays in the morning then live birds in the afternoon. So it will be interesting to see how they do.
I had some 16 ga 2 3/4 and located some 20 ga 2 3/4 & 3" shells, but was hoping to use the short chambered Parker. Thanks so much for the info. |

You're welcome. And Thank you for helping to get some younger folks into hunting, especially with a 16! |

Two point follow-up. I ordered some 2 9/16 Bismuth shells from Boss- Delivery is expected Wed 11/6. So that looks good
Point two- The UW/WDFW new shooter pheasant hunt is set for Sat 11/16 at a release site east of Ellensburg. I'll report back. I'll probably have photographs but I haven't gotten re-uped with a photo site since photobucket and one other dropped me. |

American Meet, try:
https://imgur.com/
I have used it since Photobucket got stupid expensive. With Imgur there are no fees and I have had no issues whatsoever. It also gives you multiple ways for posting pictures on different types of websites. |

We had the hunting event and I took two 20s and 2 16s, with NoTox for each. I've posted photos to Imgur and if I can figure out the system I'll post one of the guns here. |
