| Want to try some loads with RGL cases , and fix the Herters wad shells to get a reading on both .... Once it warms up in the loading room , gonna try the Rems with the same load as prev tried except : Rem SP wad with 28ga fillers (I have a lot ) , gonna stay with 13.5-14 grns powder and 7/8 shot ..... The Herters are gonna stay Feds , with the H wad and 28ga filler . This time , will fill them better , same powder load and 7/8 .... The guys at the club are starting to use and like this powder for their 12ga stuff , and I'm trying to get some use for other gauges with comps I have . Should open up the window for you guys to use this powder in other places . 1st time in a long time I'll be down to 2 powders , PP and WSF .(ok , got to count 410 hete too) |

| well , got the results today . The load was a little over MAP for 20 ga , @ 12,500 psi . Right at 1205 fps .... I'm gonna drop to 12.5 grns and call it a day ...... Load as tested : 13grns PP powder , Chedd primer , 7/8 shot , Nobel Sport case , Gualandi long sporting wad .... I've shot this load in my 1187 a few times , sharp feeling load . DO NOT reccomend for use in tubed guns , fast burning powder . At least this can be used in a 20 , so we now have 12,16, and 20 ga loads . |

| Really like PP powder ... total lack of any data for smaller gauges , but felt it would work OK . The 16ga load is totally fine and has room to use / work with other comps . Just going to drop 1/2 grn of powder on the 20ga , or may see how the 3/4wad works/fits and go from there . Just need a small decrease to get M A P down to good level . Have plenty of std 20ga loads , am trying to focus on Perfect Pattern . |

I'd be inclined to try ~10.5 gr PP in a 20g AA case, CB 1075-20 wad 3/4 oz. Maybe use a Noblesport primer to keep pressures down (and my model 12 won't perf them). Adjust powder charge as needed to get 1150-1200 fps.
Not telling you what to do FWIW, just thinking out loud. I'm trying to move away from Alliant powders due to poor availability, and lot to lot variation. Looking at using Vihtavuouri powders as well in 28g.
Thanks for the load work-up |

pumpgun .... this is just the 1st try at using this powder ! Have 1000 or so of these Nobel cases the kids tossed , so have a lot ! I don't shoot a lot of 20's , so just trying things out . Your suggestion is probably quite useable , just not sure I have many Winnies to mess with .... My next and probably last PP test will be 16's again . Rems with 14grns powder and SP's with 28ga filler , and Feds with 14grns powder , and Herters wads with probably 2 28ga fillers . (just cause I have a million of those comps and need to use them up .) ... I believe the Rem loads are gonna be great !! (all loads are 7/ |

I shot a sporting clay shoot today and the last box of shells I tried some i had loaded with PP after seeing the posts about it on this site. I used a variety of combinations 5o get the stack height right for a good crimp with my 2 5/8 hulls. What I found the most consistent was a14gr PP and16ga nitro card under the SG16 wad and 7/8oz shot.
I have a couple cases of shells loaded with green dot and 7/8oz but my green dot supply is gone and I have plenty of PP on hand and it is easy 5o get. I have gone to shooting 7/8oz loads for most of my clays to save money on shot as well as reduce recoil on my 100 year old double guns(and myself).
My cheddite hulls are all trimmed to 2 5/8 for using in my double guns. |

| Byron - I'm just gonna lower the powder to 12.5grns for this load . I'm also gonna go 12.5 and 3/4 with the 3/4 wad . This being the 20 ga ...... the 16's , you should be able to use any combo with 7/8 and 14 grns . My MAP was only 7500 with my load ! |

| The load shot great for me and my squad mates even commented that it smelled good. Of course compared to the other loads I was using of ww572 and fiber wads that would be much cleaner. |

| tried a few RGL loads and am fine with them .... 14grns PP ,RP wad with a cheerio , 7/8 . Except for the DR , just no way to not use a filler . Wish list - more DR's and a Rem wad that is for 3/4 oz . These shot nice and clean , and responded in the 11-48 just the same as the Feds . The G wads may fill out ok , haven't tried them yet .... I'm staying with my 20ga load . 12.5 grns and 3/4 . Cheerio with the G Long wad . Just too much room and have yet to find a long enough wad . Can make do , but the correct combo just doesn't exist without a little help !! (really LIKE the loads I have !) |
