Not many of you may have heard it, but a twenty-TWO gun salute was fired in honor of the new president today. Notably, the final gun was 16 gauge.
Cheers,
B. |

Brewster11,
The greatest inaugural speech given sense George Washington, history was made by all the attendees clapping and giving multiple standing Ovations. 1st time in history any clapping was every done for an inaugural speach.
I did not know about the 22 guns salute and the 16 gauge!
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

What a wonderful idea! Maybe I'll add to that number this evening as we have guests coming over to mark this auspicious day. |

It could have been a 23 gun salute but for the Seattlers that have turned my neighborhood into a No Shooting Zone. |

American Meet,
Time to relocate! We do not often shoot our shotguns up in the air here in Westmoreland county, but you can bet they shot their guns off in Potter County., Pa to celebrate the inaugural, they always do. I did hear one shot here down over the hill side during the inaugural here in Murrysville, Pa. Just one lone shot almost seemed out of place, and that is a shame.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

Well, I didn't add a volley of shots either last night (as we're pretty civilized here anymore). I can't really safely discharge a firearm at my home these days (as too-many homes are too-close now). It's a darn shame but...after nearly 40-years of living in Colorado, relocating is a real chore. Multiple residences seem to be the only practical option. |

Lloyd3,
Yes even with my main home being in Westmoreland County, Pa, I still have my other residence in Potter/Tioga County where real America lives.
All the best,

I've considered it. Actually looked at property in Northern Idaho. We've been in NCWa for nearly 40 years and have the house the way we like it and at age 76 it seems like a lot of trouble to try and start over- although if this dimwit governor and legislature keep it up, I may just sell and move. I tried to buy some rifle parts (not the action, just barrel and fittings) from Brownells a few weeks ago and was told that Washington has made it illegal to receive rifle parts without going through an FFL with Background checks and related fees. So a cost-benefit analysis is getting less on cost and more on benefit all the time- so I may just take my wife on a road trip to look at houses. |

AmericanMeet: This is exactly what I fear happening in Colorado. So...I keep looking with the knowledge that the day may come where I won't be able to stand it here anymore. |

Gentlemen,
I was very lucky to grow up in Pa, especially having my Grouse Camp in Potter County where America lives every day. When I got out of the US Army in Dec of 1976 I had the chance to pick out any place I wanted to live in the USA, I came back home to out Potter County mountains, where I knew there was freedom and low taxes.
Our big ranch house in Murrysvile, Pa is very similar with a little higher taxes, however no gun control, and decent friendly conservative people.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave
