I have been watching used 16 ga Ithaca 37's lately and prices are finally starting to come down a bit.
I am seeing the same realization on new guns also.
If anyone really wanted a decent Citori 16ga, out on GunsInternational, there are numerous NEW Hunter Grade 1 guns for $1599.00. That is $500.00 less than this time last year (for the most part).
The 16 ga Hunter Deluxe guns are still holding their price points though.
I have a Grade 1, a Grade 2 and a White Lightning. The wood between the Grade 1 and 2 is not different enough to justify the price differential. I had bought the Grade 2 on clearance from Cabelas (W.Va has no sales tax on firearms) so its sub $1800 price was well worth it and we grabbed the Grade 1 to cut the stock down for my wife from Buds for $1500.
The White Lightning, other than being a bit spiffier and have the POWs grip, is still the same gun as the other 2. In fact, I am re-inletting a 525 stock to it as I can't hold a POW grip due to a hand injury. We bought it from Jaquas used and it didn't look like it had a box of shells through it (Jaquas is 100 miles straight west on one road from us).
You have to watch Cabelas often. They will decide its time to clear out inventory and significantly chop prices. We bought my wife a Fausti 28 ga for $500.00 less than they wanted the month before.
Its also a positive if you live close enough to one of the Cabelas in the gun tax free states. We live a little over 100 miles from the Cabelas in Wheeling W.Va (outside Akron Ohio) an we go down the back way through the boonies. The differential in no taxes more than pays for the trip. |

I'm not in the market for a long gun, but I'm still waiting to see the prices of primers return to some aspect of sanity. $.12 primers really put the bite in reloading. |

Primers are down. I can get them local to me (W209) for $.089 each
Ballistic Products has them for $85.99 / 1000 but of course you have hazmat unless you catch a sale (W209's) and Cheddite 209 for $52.00 per 1000
Right now Midway is running a special for W209's at $83.99 a box and if you buy 2 boxes (or any combination of in-stock primers that exceed $150.00) you get free hazmat.
Or I just get on the highway and drive 20 miles south and these are the prices,
(when they have them in stock, due to their aggressive pricing, they sell out of components fast)
the 1st monetary figure is per 1000, 2nd is per 5000
CH209 CHEDDITE 209 SHOTGUN $57 $280
R209 REMINGTON 209 SHOTGUN $89 $440
W209 WINCHESTER 209 SHOTGUN $66 $325
CLPM CCI 350 LARGE PISTOL MAGNUM $76 $375
CSPM CCI 550 SMALL PISTOL MAGNUM $69 $340
CSRBR CCI BR4 SMALL RIFLE BENCH REST $120 $595
FSP FED 100 SMALL PISTOL $69 $340
FSR FED 205 SMALL RIFLE $71 $350
WSP WIN SMALL PISTOL $65 $320
WSR WIN SMALL RIFLE $66 $325 |

Yeah but the powders I all like are now pretty much unavailable again. I've been a Hercules/Alliant guy since I started reloading in the 80s. Too much profit in war industries I guess. Sort of transitioning to Hogdon, but several of those favorites are getting scarce. |

My buddy and I liked TiteWad for trap. Can't find that now. It shot CLEAN. Hardly any barrel residue. I have since found some powders to replace it, but yes, certain powders are getting hard to find, if at all. |
