I have read, that the current Remington 16 gauge hull is now the Federal 16 gauge, 2 3/4" hull, paper base hull, that has a black plastic tube instead of purple.
Has anybody reloaded any of the new Remington hulls? If so, how did it go? Are they uniform in length like the Federal hulls or are they all over the lot like the RGL's. |

| Ones I loaded were about as brittle as the regular black hulls. Stiff on the folds. Also the new heters are not the same as the herters that was on the market before the buy out. I still have many flats of the original herters a few years ago. |

Of the few handfuls of the new once fired black (Fed) Rem's I have compared to a bunch of once fired purple Fed's, sample batch 10 hulls ea, using my Sharpie Marker depth gauge micrometer, all the hulls hit the lower bout of the S pretty much exactly the same.
1ea side-b-side 1341gr #9 lead filled both equally to the brim & an SG16 fit in both equally snug.
I plan on using Fed data to reload them when the time comes. |

| I can see a trick question when presented...the only way to get true certified readings is cap on, of course.... |

| Sadly, I am on my last 75 RGL once fired hulls. I got box stuff, it’s all 1 oz #6 so not much good for summer hunts or sporting. Suppose I’ll need to push the WTB or ISO market for 500 hulls pretty soon. |

| A sharpie will also work to measure chamber length like 2 3/4 vs 2 9/16 |
