The remington 31 is referred to as "he gun with the ball bearing action. They are very slick. However, they are basically a modified Remington model 17with a side port instead of a bottom feed/ bottom eject set up.
Remington brought this gun out to facilitate easier loading and unloading for target shooting. The 31 was a very popular skeet gun. however, it is not any smoother than a well broken in Ithaca model 37, Which is the same gun as a Model 17, which was made by Ihaca after they bought the patent rights |

16 Guy,
Since I am a '31' fan, that is great info to know. I have a 12, 16 and 20.
Do you know if they ever did a .410 in the '31' ? I've never seen any record of it.
