Godspeed Mike, thankyou for all the great chats we had.
From reading his CV, he was the definition of a Great American. Our flag at the house here will fly at half staff in his memory today. |

My flag is always flying here, but today it is at half-staff.
Such a sense of loss. |

Hard not picking up the phone when it rings at the typical time it has rang for all the past years and asking , so what did you shoot today ?
Also all the game pictures I have sent over the years , which was just about every day it was fish or squirrels if not turkeys or deer .
Shot a button buck yesterday and it was hard not sending a picture of that little deer ( I shot that deer with the bow for camp meat for everyone that is coming in Friday evening for the gun season opener on Saturday, were having deer burgers Friday evening and for everyone to have in their packs for lunch while on the stand Saturday.)
An older guy in the community told me years ago the hardest part of getting old was loosing your friends, he was right.
Regards Nick
Now back to pressing out deer burgers on my commercial hamburger press my sweety got me. |

Put my flag back up today. Even took my old car out to brunch with a buddy.

Be good to your buddies...you don't know how long you will get to enjoy them. |

A fine gentlemen, always kind, knowledgeable, and encouraging. Glad to have known about him and received his sage counsel. Will be sadly missed.

Saw a few posts of his here and always read any of his comments on various subjects. Reached out once with a question on one of his posts & he responded back with info and data more than a stranger would expect. A true gentleman & scholar.
May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, brother..... |

I'm shocked to hear this! I wasn't aware that he was ill. He was a wonderful fellow. Always will to help, lots of great info and very knowledgeable.
Our prayers go out to his family and I know that he is in God's loving arms and in a much better place.
Rest in Peace Mike, you'll be missed greatly |
