Just picked up one of these neat underlever hammer sxs guns. My understanding is that the 17 is a little nicer version of the model 20 (some nice engraving and checkered walnut stock instead of smooth beechwood) and the model 15 is a little nicer version than the 17 (more engraving).
Has 2-9/16" chambers, 29 1/2" barrels and weighs 6.8 lbs. but it's such a slim gun with the back action locks and it balances perfectly on the forend that it feels lighter. Serial number dates it to 1922. I just shot a round a sporting clays with my new Husqvarna 51 12 ga. (top lever back action 1932 hammer gun) and did just fine, only forgot to pull back the hammers twice, LOL. The underlever will take some getting used to, but I think the 16 gauge model 17 is going to be a fun addition and if I can get used to the hammers in the field I think it will make a nice grouse gun, too!
Anyone else have a nice 16 ga. Husky?

I currently have 3 hammerless Huskys, and gave a 4th to my dad a while back, but I've been looking for the 'right' hammer gun. They're a bit heavy, but I've grown quite fond of them!

Have several 20's in 12 and 16 bore , have a very pretty Damascus barreled heavily engraved Husky in 16 .

Shot more than a small truckload of birds in the Dakota's with the under lever guns I really had fun with them , have a guild gun under lever in 16 , hasn't a sign of a choke it got shot the most of all , lot's of birds were shot with that little gun over the many trips to the Reservation.

Have a ball with your under lever guns , I sure have.

Regards Nick

Huskies are pretty much all I shoot. Some are heavy, some aren't. I've had 16's that weigh around 6 lbs, and others around 7lbs. They made great guns for 300 years, so there are lots to choose from. I just picked up a 310AS 16 straight grip, which I've been looking for for a long time, and it weighs 6.7lbs with 29.5" barrels. I've owned literally dozens of husky hammer guns. Love the back action round bodies. The 40 series are my favorite, with wedge wooden forends, damascus, and beautiful engraving. Hard to find though with barrels in good shape. Will be getting a dedicated 12ga clays gun soon, and will probably go with a more modern 310 or 1310. The 200 sidelock is also very nice, but a bit pricey.

It's a disease I tell ya! I am now up to 4 Huskies. In the last few months picked up a 16 ga 51 with 31.5" barrels IM/F chokes and a 12 ga 310 with 29.5" barrels with IM and oh my god full chokes. The 12 ga chokes measured .027 and .047 ! Shocked
I don't plan to do much hunting with these guns so I opened up the 16 to LM/M and the 12 ga to IM/IM for some sporting clays fun. Since these will be used for casual clays and the occasional sxs shoot, I will probably go ahead and open them up to LM/LM. I tend not to change to using the back trigger first with guns with two chokes even on stations that it might be an advantage to do so and I find LM to be an excellent choke for just about any sporting clays target. I have also loaded spreader loads in the past and may load some for "in your face" targets or those pesky rabbits. I already have my eye on a couple more.
Is there a Husqvarna Anonymous? Hello, my name is ..... Rolling Eyes
