I could probably host a shoot at my local IWLA, just northwest of Washington DC.

We have a modest Sporting Clays course, Trap Skeet and 5 Stand. It would be an easy one day event for members in MD, DC and VA. We have a nice clubhouse, covered pavillion, fire pits/grills etc.

It could be easy, informal and low cost.

Any interest from you guys in the area.

Jeff

Jeff,

I would be very interested. I have been visiting the forum for over a year and recently joined. It would be a bit of a drive for me but would be worth it to meet some of the other members in the area. If there would be enough interest in this shoot, maybe some would be interested in a possible hunt (preserve or out of state trip?) this fall. Thanks for posing the idea.

Marcus

Jeff, if you are talking about the BCC Chapter, count me in. I am a member and a range officer and will help you run the shoot.

PM me with your ideas.

I hope my Nitro Special gets back from the gunsmith in time to shoot it.

I usually shoot on Saturday morning when there is no crowd. I l haven't been a member of the chapter for too long. I was inducted in October.

Let me know when you are going to work as a range officer on some Sunday and I'll join you.

Jim,

I shoot pretty much every Sunday, but I only live about 5 miles away from BCCIWLA. So I can meat you there anytime. I'll PM you with my number.

There are usually at least 3 16 ga shooter there on a typical Sunday and the crowds are not so bad, though they are prone to cat calls when you miss....

Open the shoot for North Carolina 16ga shooters? Would enjoy shooting
trap. Am paralyzed from chest down, in wheelchair, both legs amputated
above knees, have enjoyed trap for several years. Wife and I could drive up one day, motel overnight, shoot with guys, spend night, then return to NC. I have lots of trap 12ga, and several 16ga, a Fox Model B my favorite.

ltking,

We'd love to have you join in an yes we do have trap. We could also set up some of the 5 stand targets to work with your range of motion from a wheelchair.

Our club has hosted a couple of events for diasbled vets, all of which were in wheelchairs. It was a real hoot and some of these guys were amazing to watch shoot.

When we get this thing rolling we'll post the details.

How far are you from Sanford? The Southern Side by Side event is a lot of fun. The set up is not what I would call wheelchair friendly but with a little help you could get around. And you might try the 5 stand and ZZ birds there.

If your going to go let me know and we'll hook up.

Jeff,

What kind of response are you looking for as far as group size? Do we need to have a minimum # of guys in order to have use of the facilities?

Thoroughly enjoyed your post "Dog". I believe it was you who had posted one on the Parker site entitled "Dear Diary" (?) that forced me to change my "unmentionables" when I got through reading it! Shocked Anyway, thanks for your willingness to set this up. I hope there is enough response to make it happen.

Marcus,

We can do it even if it is just a handful of us for an informal get together.

When the weather gets better we'll start talking dates. I'g guessing some time late april or so...

Yes, that's me on the pgca site too.

I would be interested in the shoot might be a long drive for me too but a chance to meet other 16 ga guys and see some sweet 16's would be worht the trip. should I bring all my dad's old inexpensive guns for oggling? a LC Smith Bolt, Wards Westernfield pump, and a Sears (Stevens?) single. then I have a Ithaca 37

I think that half the fun would be to see the unusual 16's that we accumulate. I say fill the trunk with 16's.

We'd shoot, have show and tell and mingle.

Lawrence,

I was counting on you without even talking to you about it. It wouldn't work without your collection of esoteric guns!

I shot today, you had to kick a heel into the ice to keep from sliding when you shot.....
