I believe at this point, we have to assume that something has happened to Smith Long or his ability to access this website. I know that many of us have been in contact with him over that last few years to solve an issue for a new, former or current member. Though it might have taken a few weeks, s_long had always taken care of it and usually with a reply that was friendly.

To continue complaining would seem to be a useless endeavor.

What we need is a solution. Do we have a member or members that are well versed in websites or know someone that is well versed in websites?

I just might and I will contact this person and let you know what can be done, if anything.

I had said that I wasn't going to respond to this thread anymore, but I need to clarify a point for everyone.

Without the logon ID and password(s) that are used to access the software code, etc

OR

Permission and Intervention from the Owner(s) to the folks that are hosting the site to see if they can access the code, you may as well p*** into the wind.

I took care of the website for TireTown Corvette Club for a while. They had to give me where to logon to and the userid and password to get to the site.

Doing what needs to be done, in the grand scheme of things for someone with an IT background regarding the web, is not that hard.

Getting access is if not granted by the "king".

Have been following this discussion with interest. It has been a fresh breeze of info over these last years for me and i wish i was younger & more PC savvy to do something about its potential demise. 16ga usage came late in life for me and after i enjoyed my first one i wound up buying 2 more; its was like eating potato chips. My kids, who were raised with PC in school, and my wife who assisted the teacher in the PC class in HS are usually the ones bailing me out whenever there is a problem. I really wish i could get involved here to see this site stay active. Ironically, the site is just like the storied 16, everyone keeps mentioning the 16s supposed demise, and now this site dedicated to it is at the crossroads....

The last email I received from here came from, smith@16ga.com

Don't know if that would get anybody in contact with some one who might have an answer.

Tried that one 3 days shy of 2 months ago (12/16/25) no answer. I just sent another one.
