Tubing available at hardware stores- designed to be stuffed into cracks in walls and flooring to seal and insulate. It is commonly cut into short lengths and used as filler in rifle cartridges when reduced loads are being used- to fill the space between the powder charge and the bullet base.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried really short sections of the foam as a means of filling a shotshell load to get a proper crimp when wads are not obtainable for reduced shot loads. |

I use foam from a square pad from Joan fabrics. Can get it in 1/8 and 1/4 thickness. Punch them out with a 5/8" keyhole saw on drill press. Be sure to remove the teeth first then sharpen the bottom.
Been doing that for years. Hammer bill |

You are going to have to find another source. JoAnn Fabrics is gonzo. They went bankrupt and liquidated all the merchandise and closed all the stores. They were headquartered just up the road from where I grew up.
We bought lots of material, stuff from them. We went and bought my wife fabric for quilting and a vinyl upholstery material that matches the interior of my Corvette perfectly. We make things for the inside of the car with it. All when it was on clearance.
Even bought a lot of heavy duty thick felt. I line the inside of my cases for my takedown shotguns. They have the pull out squares in the foam. We glue the felt down after the shapes are formed.
You could try Michael's as a source and maybe even Amazon or eBay now the JoAnn's is gone. |

| A similar bit easier to get thing is just the styrofoam meat trays they pack meat on. I use that as spacer often.[/i] |
