Numbers is exactly the reason I tried it. I used to use Fiocchi Golden Pheasant #5 for grouse on the premise that I had less runners and more dead in the air birds. There are no wild pheasants here so I don’t hunt them very often. I’ll use 6 in a heartbeat but I prefer 7s right now. One of my favorite loads is a combo of #5 & 7.5, but the 7s have that nice Goldilocks combination of density of shot as well as density of pattern.

Same here, my upland birdie & bunny load is 1oz #7 nickel plated (20ga waaayyy back in the day now 16ga, of course) but in plastic Cheds not paper. Albeit they do dimple on set back similar to very soft shot but the plating grabs less fur and feathers on its way in.

What a world, halfway around the globe for $2, can't imagine why they won't work....

Intention is to load and compare some but again can't see how they won't work.

Blue color is the traditional 16ga for the UK (and maybe Europe) so I can live with that as an alternative to purple hulls. It sure is a better color than the old black paper hulls BPI offered.

I'm just happy to see them offered again.

I could never get a good crimp on a once fired reload so never bothered beyond that.

I had some of the BPI black paper hulls. The first crimp was decent. When reloading that hull the crimp was very ugly.
