<  16ga. General Discussion  ~  Chamber diameter

What is the correct diameter of a 16 ga. chamber. My cousin has a gun that measures .750" by 2 9/16" long. His is using remington game loads and the brass keeps swelling. Are the chambers too big in diameter, or is the short length the problem.

That would be the correct chamber diameter for a 16g. LC Smith used a tapered chamber from .745 to .732.

It doesn't matter if he lengthens the chambers or not.
If his chamber I.D. is .005" bigger than the brass on a 16 gauge shell. The brass is still going to swell untill it comes in contact with the chamber walls.
