There's great solid old gun at:

I know because I have one. These have classics looks for low cost. These were sold by Sears in the '30s. You can see the original Sears catalog ad at:

$16.45 for a double trigger model and $18.45 for single trigger according to the 1933 catalog! You could also order a 16ga. Browning A5 for $43.35! It's interesting that the Brownings only came with a "full" choke. And, you could get a Winchester model 12 in 12ga. or 16ga. for $44.25 "cash price".
Cool!

Stevens made. Good solid shotguns. 5000, 5100 and 311 all " good ol' guns" that were made in the U.S.A. Smile

Neat old gun in great shape. That's the Steven 315; earlier model than the 311.

The 315's rear pin in the action was higher (above) than the front one. If you notice the picture of the right side of the gun 5000 is stamped next to the rear pin. Smile

Billy,

I guess I was looking at the bolt through the top lever; didn't notice the pins. I saw the 5000; my 5100's all have the top lever without the bolt. I figured this was earlier than mine; maybe the same as a 330 then?

I have a book out in my barn that may shed some light on this. THAT IS IF I CAN FIND IT! Your right on the 5100 levers but this past yr. I ran into a 5100 with screw(bolt). Who knows, they prolly used leftover parts on the next model. One things for sure they made plenty of them and many are still out there shooting. In 1962 I bought a brand new 311 on sale for $44.95 and still have it! Funny thing as per the date code stamped on the action it was made in 1952! Smile

That one happens to have been made by Stevens, but some Rangers were made by Hunter Arms--same gun as the Hunter Fulton. That one looks to be in unusually good shape, although looking at the barrel blue, I wonder whether the CC may have been redone. Also quite a bit of drop at heel. Solid old guns, on the heavy side.
