Was working in Utah a few weeks ago. Had an evening to kill before flying home. Has been wanting a new A5 Ultimate in 16 and had enough Scheeks reward points to pick it up. Scheels showed none in inventory but went to try and get one ordered and delivered to Kansas City. Low and behold, they had 2 in stock. I grabbed the one with best wood. For $30 they shipped it to my local FFL. Beats checking it on plane or having to drive 150 miles to KC to pick it up.
5# 12 ounce on my digital kitchen scale.
First shots this morning using a mixture of cheapy Walmart Federal and Winchester shells resulted in a limit in an

| Nice looking gun. I didn’t no they made an upgrade version of the new A5. I have owned the standard version several years. They’re very good upland guns. |

| I only wish it had the POW grip. Zero complaints otherwise. |

| I agree that the grip in not good. I had mine altered to a POW grip. I like it much better. That resulted in the wood being refinished in a satin finish vs the browning high gloss. And I like the satin much better. |

Very nice! What is the barrel length on it? I wanted a 26" barrel on my A5, but could only get it with the 28", mine weighs in at 5lbs 12oz also. I was fortunate to find one with decent wood. Love the look of the receiver on yours, I'm a little jealous!

I knew I saw somebody had done that, thought it was over on SGW and searched and searched for the thread about it. I'm tempted to grab a rasp....but don't think I have the guts to do that. |

Mine is also 28", because it was the better wood of the 2 Scheels had out in Utah. I kind of wanted the 26", but honestly, I really don't care. I shot mostly well with it....got a few misses out of it as well. Had no misfires or anything faulty with it. Can't wait for walking South Dakota with it this fall. |

Mark Larson, in Portland did mine, and he really does a nice job. He has a web site if you’re interested. |

I do not know. When I used him 4-5 years ago, he was in Portland. |

| I asked Mark to convert mine to a POA or straight and he said it was such a PIA that he wasn't doing them any more. |
