....George at Gulf Coast guns amazed me this week. I bought a 16ga L C Smith field grade EJECTOR from him a few weeks back, as I was on my fullblown addiction bender.... . When I got it, I noticed a crack above the left lock plate. The guy that bought my shop (Charlie) took it apart, and that crack went through the whole head. I rang George, and he told me to send him the gun to fix. I said, no thanks, I would like to get it fixed by somebody I know and trust, no offense. Apparently, that didn't tick him off too bad, because last week, I got a check in the mail from him for $100. George even went so far as to recommend carburator cleaner as the best stuff to use to get the oil out, which I had not heard of. Charlie charged me $85 to soak the oil out (and the carburator cleaner really worked well, by the way), and repair the crack. I will return $15 to George.
This sort of thing simply needs to be shared, as it is RARE. George is a great guy, very very fair, and I would not hesitate to highly recommend him as an honest dealer. Txshootist has also bought 2 guns from him, and was also quite pleased with them, but I should let him say that, I suppose, at least that is what I gathered from him. Anyhow, George has good stuff, his prices are really really fair, and he stands behind his inventory....

With Greedy Mountain, etc pushing the smaller guys out it is still nice to deal with a person who is on our level and not just trying to sell a gun for the commision and 8 bucks an hr.Support your local gunshop |

Duncan: this might be a good time to glass bed the head of the stock and around the lockplates. Bob Fulton and Dennis Smith are both in your neighborhood (sorta) and still 7 mths until bird season |
