My new gun is a Browning auto5 16 gauge serial number 5961. Made in 1910. I plan to use it for Dove and 5-Stand.

Welcome aboard. Don't be afraid to jump in and don't take any opinions you spawn as personal.
Regards,
Charles |

Welcome aboard.
Oh no, other auto 5's out number the 16 by 7 to 1. We'll have to do something about that ratio! |

Welcome Yentzen. You know me as DE at the other hangout. I REALLY like that A5 16 you just picked up. Wish I had a straight stocked 16 in my little A5 battery. I'l have my eyes open now! |

The gun looks pretty clean for a 4 didgit A5. Nice find. Wasn't Yentzen the name of a model of SureShot duck calls back in the early 70's? |

Great start to the gauge, and a familiar model for you to boot. I've never seen a straight grip A5 but have oned several in 20 and 16. Welcome! |

Welcome; cool user name, too! Burneyville must be a big 'un; didn't show up in my old Rand McNally. What part of OK do you hail from?

I am 1/2 mile north of the Red River just west of Lake Texoma. Just 85 miles from Dallas Texas. |

Classy handle,Yentzen. I still have and occasionally use a double reed and a triple reed that are thirty years old. " Cowboy " would sure be proud. Looking forward to your posts and responses.
BTW, I shot my first ducks with a Remington Model 11- 16 bore.
Yours for more ducks,

Yentzen, I'm sure we have. I used to hunt Fork, Roberts, Hagerman, Patman, and mostly East Texas- Sabine River and Toledo Bend.
I don't get out as much now, but my first love is hunting "greentree" reservoirs or flooded timber. I used to have some times in the day!
PM me sometime when you feel like it. Good to hear from some fellow "mudbugs". |
