On one of the other threads, there are questions about these grips.
My question is this... If you use one and your leading hand is further forward, does it change your swing? I've always tended to grip the barrels at the tip of the fore-end. If you use this slip-on grip, you'd grab the barrels further out. Will that help or hinder?
Thanks for thinking about this.

I'm not shure if it helps or hinders since my shooting doesn't seem to show any difference. I find it more comfortable with the grip on leather rather than being shorter and on a splinter of wood. in the field I use gloves just to keep the hands off the metal. I am considering trying the hand guard this year in the field.
Best,

IMHO-it will smoothe your sqing--but slow it significantly the further out you place your hand. See what works for you! |

Slowing down may help wyth shorter barrels, as I feel too whippy on the shorter barrel (26") guns. |

well Peter, I put them on all my side by's that aren't beavertail....I took a shooting course from Jack Mitchell (ex Holland or Churchill, can't remember which)... and he taught me to hold barrels quite aways beyond forend tip (some sort of English thang), trouble was, after a lot of shooting, my dainty hands got burnt gripping out there. So I tried a leather forend slipover job....awkward at first, now I love 'em..... gives me the beavertail without the bulk, and no burnt digits to boot....
By the way, I'll PM or email you when the ship comes in, if you catch my drift....
